Build a migration inventory
List products, variants, customers, order history, content, URLs, redirects, apps, subscriptions, analytics, email flows, taxes, shipping and payment requirements.
Map URLs before launch
Preserve valuable URLs where possible and create explicit redirect mappings when they must change. Do not leave SEO migration work until after the domain switch.
Rebuild operations, not just pages
The new store must reproduce the business workflows behind checkout: inventory, fulfillment, notifications, integrations and reporting.
Test before cutover
Use representative orders, devices, payment methods and customer scenarios. Verify analytics and conversion tracking as part of launch QA.
If moving to Shopify
Compare Shopify plans and required integrations before migration so the destination architecture is based on requirements rather than assumptions.
